Alabama Hammers News Release
The Alabama Hammers travel to Columbus, Ga. for game five of the 2015 Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) schedule to face the Lions on Saturday, April 25, with kickoff set for 6:00 p.m. CDT.
Alabama (3-1) will face the Lions (3-1) in a battle for first place in the league. Columbus has the most potent quarterback in the PIFL with Casey Kacz who tops the PIFL with 314 yards per game of total offense. On the other side of the ball, the Lions are last in the league in total defense giving up 318 yards per outing.
"The Lions have a lot of experienced players on its roster and they do score a lot of points, but they are very talented across the board," said Scott Sharp head coach of the Hammers. "If we continue to force turnovers like we have in our first four games that would be good for us in Columbus."
The Hammers are led by quarterback Garrett Sutphen who has hit on 50-percent of his passes for 22 TDs. He has at his disposal a bevy of talent at the receiver position. The Hammers also possess a hard-hitting defense that makes few mistakes.
"We have to play four quarters to win. We're still looking for that fact," added Sharp.
The game can be heard on the Hammers' Radio Network including WAFN-FM, 92.7 Fun Radio-Arab, WZZN-FM, 97.7 The Zone-Huntsville and WWIC-AM, 1050-Scottsboro. Michael St. John and Steve Moulton will call the action.
