Harrisburg Stampede News Release
NASHVILLE, TN (April 28, 2014) - Due to severe weather coming into the area in the coming hours, the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) has announced that tonight's game between the Alabama Hammers (0-4) and the Harrisburg Stampede will be postponed to June 27, 2014 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL.
Alabama Hammers owner, Jeff Knight, met with members of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) this morning to discuss the validity and severity of the pending severe weather and subsequently made the determination to reschedule the game for Friday June 27th where both Harrisburg and Alabama share a bye week.
PIFL Executive Director, Jeff Gonos, concurred with Knight's evaluation and stated, "I commend the Hammers organization and Mr. Knight for taking proactive measures to meet with NOAA early this morning to get an accurate read on the storm and to make the appropriate decision to postpone the game to preserve the safety of the fans and players on both teams. It is unfortunate that Harrisburg had to travel so far but the early decision will allow them time to get on the road and out the storm's path."
