Alabama Hammers News Release

The Alabama Hammers will face the Trenton Freedom in a special Friday contest at the Von Braun Center this Friday, May 8, with a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.

The Hammers (3-3) are looking to get back on the winning track after two consecutive losses, but seem to have things in order for this encounter with the Freedom (2-3) as preparations have gone well.

"The hay is in the barn," said Calvin Ousby, interim head coach of the Hammers. "Our main focus is self-discipline on and off the field and we've asked our players not to let the elements affect you as the game goes on."

The Freedom comes into the game against the Hammers with the No. 1 passing efficiency rating in the Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) and the No. 2 scoring offense. The Freedom post 55-points per outing while giving up 46-points per game, which is No. 3 in the PIFL.

"We know they love to run the football, too, and their defense is the type that fly around the ball and they also have an experienced defensive front," added Ousby.

Alabama will bring its high-potent offense to the game and its hard hitting defense taking no prisoners in the process.

The game can be heard on the Hammers' Radio Network including WAFN-FM, 92.7 Fun Radio-Arab, WZZN-FM, 97.7 The Zone-Huntsville and WWIC-AM, 1050-Scottsboro. Michael St. John and Steve Moulton will call the action. 16 Years of Arena Football in the Valley. It's Hammer Time.
