Alabama Hammers News Release

HUNTSVILLE, Al. - The Alabama Hammers will play their final home game of the season as they are set to face off against the Louisiana Swashbucklers this Saturday night at the Von Braun Center. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and t.he first 1,000 fans will receive Hammer jerseys compliments of TOC Sports and Huntsville Hospital Sports Center

The Swashbucklers (2-8) eliminated the Hammers (5-5) from playoff contention with last week's 61-57 victory over the Columbus Lions and the Hammers 56-40 loss to the Richmond Raiders. The win also placed the Swashbucklers and the Lions in a tie for fourth place in the Professional Indoor Football League's playoff seeding with the Columbus Lions with two games left to play.

The Hammers can still play spoiler in these last two games against the Swashbucklers by forcing them to play the top-seed in the PIFL playoffs if the Hammers can pull off victories in back-to-back weeks against Louisiana.

Louisiana comes into the game with the top ranked rushing offense with 47.2 yards per game and the top ranked rushing defense with 13.6 yards per game.

The Hammers will be looking to find some fourth quarter consistency in this week's game as the team has been outscored 35-14 the past two games in the final quarter. In both games the Hammers entered the fourth quarter trailing by 10 points or less and went on to lose by scores of 59-40 and 57-40.
