Hammerheads\' Open Tryout a Resounding Success

Corpus Christi, TX- Scores answered the call for Hammerheads' open tryouts Sunday and they did not disappoint. Players from all over were in attendance Sunday as the Hammerheads hosted their 2005 Corpus Christi Open Tryout. They came from Florida, Louisiana, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. However, the hometown boys had a good showing as well, ex-Texas A&M-Kingsville players had a presence at the tryout and even former Carroll High standout Eric Tasby showed up to give the indoor game a go. There were guys with previous pro experience, there were former college and high school standouts, and there were weekend warriors as well all looking to showcase their talents. No matter the skill level, the almost 100 that showed up for workout gave their all for a chance to be invited to Hammerheads' training camp. Overall the tryout has been deemed a huge success and the Hammerheads' coaching staff was pleasantly surprised by the level of talent that was on hand At the American Bank Center this Super Bowl Sunday.
The Hammerheads are expected to bring in around ten of those that tried out on Sunday afternoon to camp. With the amount of extremely talented players coming into camp this year head coach Jason McKinley has his work cut for him to try and trim the roster down to 22 come game time. Coach McKinley seems to be putting together the perfect formula for success that has the Hammerheads poised to improve tremendously on last year's 8-8 mark in 2005. The team would like to thank all those that came out to tryouts for putting it all on the line and leaving it all out on the field. The Patriots may have won the Super Bowl, but the guys that came out and gave it there all at tryouts were the real winners on Sunday.
Get ready to REEL IN THE ACTION Corpus Christi, because the Hammerheads are back and they're ready to roll.
