Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release
Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC travels to Missouri this weekend for their first match against Saint Louis FC on Saturday, May 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET at World Wide Technology Soccer Park.
The Hammerheads enter Saturday's match following a 4-0 loss against the Harrisburg City Islanders at Legion Stadium last weekend. While the Hammerheads held possession majority of the match, they were unable to find the back of the net to hold off the opposition and decrease their point deficit.
Saint Louis currently sits two points above Wilmington in the league standings with only five games to date compared to the Hammerheads' six. Saint Louis is coming off a bye week after claiming a 2-1 victory over Oklahoma City Energy FC on April 25 on the road at Taft Stadium. Jamiel Hardware and Mike Ambersley each netted a goal while goalkeeper Mark Pais tallied five saves overall.
Wilmington and Saint Louis are scheduled to face off again once more during the regular season in July at Legion Stadium.
Saturday's match at World Wide Technology Soccer Park will be broadcast live on Saint Louis FC's YouTube channel. Wilmington will then travel to Louisville City FC for a match on Tuesday, May 12 at Louisville Slugger Field before returning home. Fans in Wilmington can join Hammerheads staff and supporters at Carolina Ale House on both dates for watch parties to watch the team live on the road.
Wilmington is set to host their next home match on Sunday, May 16 versus the Rochester Rhinos at 7:00 p.m. ET at Legion Stadium. Flex packages and single tickets are available for purchase online.
