Hammerheads Set for Rematch with Richmond

Wilmington, NC - The Wilmington Hammerheads will host the Richmond Kickers at Legion Stadium on Friday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m. with the determination to continue their home game winning streak. This will be the second encounter the Hammerheads will have with the Kickers this season, followed by another on July 7th again at Legion Stadium.
When the Hammerheads and Kickers met last on May 26th at City Stadium, the Kickers prevented a 1-1 finish with the Hammerheads by scoring two goals during the match's stoppage time, finalizing a 3-1 conquest over Wilmington.
The Hammerheads are coming off a successful road trip from the northeast over the weekend, taking a 1-1 draw with Rochester and a 2-0 victory over Harrisburg to gain a collective four points in the league standings.
This road trip earned Hammerheads goalkeeper Alex Horwath top honors and being selected as USL PRO's Player of the Week for his 10-save shut out versus Harrisburg. Hammerhead teammates, Paul Nicholson and Andriy Budnyy, were named to the Team of the Week for their goal-scoring performances, with Corey Hertzog listed as an honorable mention.
Upcoming Games
The Wilmington Hammerheads will take on the Los Angeles Blues on Saturday, June 30 at their home field. Kickoff is set for 7:30pm at Legion Stadium. The theme for game night is "Military Night," sponsored by the new Whole Foods Market of Wilmington.
In celebration of the 4th of July and to honor our troops, the Hammerheads will have a large fireworks display after the game in the backfield of Legion Stadium. Therefore, backfield parking will not be available for this game. Come out and join other Hammerhead fans over food, drinks, soccer, and celebrating our great nation.
