Hammerheads Host Trial for NJ Cedar Stars Academy Players

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC welcome the trial for New Jersey's, Cedar Star Academy's Mickey George and Fabio DeSousa for a trial.
George, 18, is a defensive midfielder with Liberian descent who resides in Newark, NJ. George attended St. Benedicts Prep and is currently a captain for the Cedar Stars Academy.
DeSousa, also 18, is a left midfielder with Brazilian descent who resides in Long Branch, NJ. DeSousa also attended St. Benedicts Prep and currently plays for the Cedar Stars Academy, alongside George.
Both of these young players are current members of Cedar Stars Academy (Newark) U-18 team. Last season (2015) they led the U-17 team to the US Club National Championship. So far this season, they have led the team to the Disney Soccer Showcase Championship, NJ Cup State Championship, and a strong 2-1 record at the Dallas Cup. Both players will lead the Cedar Stars Academy team to Colorado this summer where they will defend their National Championship from one year ago.
St. Benedict's Prep, in Newark, NJ, is an affiliate of Cedar Stars Academy where they secured back-to-back State Championships and National #1 ranking (2014 and 2015). Both, George and DeSousa were NJ State Prep 1st Team selections and are regarded as top Division 1 college prospects.
Along with George Altirs' connection with the Hammerheads, Altirs is the President, Owner, and Founder of the NJ Cedar Stars Academy. Altirs' connection to both teams provides future players with the opportunity to train and develop their professional skills; on and off the field. Hammerheads head Coach, Mark Briggs, stated, "It's a great opportunity for these young players to be in a professional environment and learn from professional players, and great for their development."
The Hammerheads welcome George and DeSousa to the Hammerheads for their trial period in May!
