Hambly signs AHL contract

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames announced today that defenseman Tim Hambly has signed an American Hockey League contract for the 2007-08 season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Hambly returns for a third season in the Calgary organization after playing in Omaha in 2005-06 and 2006-07. Last season, Hambly recorded three goals and 15 assists for 18 points on the Omaha blueline. He appeared in five post-season games and recorded one playoff goal.

Hambly, a 24-year old native of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, has appeared in 114 AHL games with Omaha and Iowa. During his AHL career, he has four goals with 31 assists for 35 points. Before beginning his professional career, Hambly played four seasons at the University of Minnesota Duluth. He scored 13 goals with 47 assists for 60 points during his collegiate career.

The Quad City Flames will begin their inaugural season as the American Hockey League affiliate of the Calgary Flames this fall at the i wireless Center.
