Hall Heading to Buffalo State

March 17, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Keystone Ice Miners News Release

CONNELLSVILLE, PA - The Keystone Ice Miners, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announced on Tuesday that veteran forward Jon Hall has committed to the State University of New York at Buffalo for the 2015-16 season. The Bengals are a NCAA Division III program which competes in the SUNY Athletic Conference. (SUNYAC)

"Everything's right there in New York and it won't be a terrible bus trip everywhere," said Hall, referring to the conference.

Hall took a tour of Buffalo State's campus last week after having a chance to meet the coaching staff after a recent game. "Everything on campus is real close and the rink is on campus," he said. "They got a good program going there and it's a good school too, academically."

Hall, 20 years old and a native of Fishers, Indiana has been with the Ice Miners/Fighting Falcons since 2013. He scored 10 goals and added 6 assists in 2013-14 and has 10 goals and 13 assists through 55 games this season. He has been extremely durable, as he is one of only three Ice Miners to appear in every game so far in 2014-15.

Hall says he owes a lot to the Ice Miners organization and head coach Michael Gershon. "Coach Gershon picked me up and gave me a shot as a free agent," Hall said. "He just put me in and grinded it out. He's taught me a lot and helped me get ready for college."

Hall becomes the fourth Ice Miners player to commit to an NCAA program, joining forwards Jacob Coleman (Robert Morris) and Cameron Smith (Dartmouth), along with goaltender Nick Kossoff. (Lake Superior State)
