Halifax Wanderers Announce Full 2024 CPL Schedule Presented by WestJet

Halifax, NS - - The Canadian Premier League released the 2024 regular season schedule on Wednesday afternoon, presented by WestJet. The Halifax Wanderers open the season with a road trip to British Columbia on Saturday, April 13, against Pacific FC. Halifax will then face Vancouver FC on Thursday, April 18.

CPL soccer returns to the Wanderers Grounds on Saturday, April 27, when the Wanderers welcome Atletico Ottawa. Single-match tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, January 26. Season memberships are available now at hfxwanderersfc.ca/tickets

"With season ticket sales higher than ever there our fans have never been more excited for a season to get started," Wanderers Founder and President Derek Martin said. "I am thrilled we were able to add even more games to our always sold-out 'Holiday Monday' series and really excited for our first ever back-to-back 'Hot Summer Nights' series in July"

Each CPL team will play each other four times throughout the season, twice at home and twice away, for a 28-game schedule. The top five teams at the end of the regular season will advance to the 2024 CPL Playoffs. The five-team format puts added emphasis on the regular season standings and gives an advantage to the teams that perform best over the 28-game schedule.

Meanwhile, This year will mark the third time the CPL officially recognizes a regular season winner after Commissioner Mark Noonan instituted the honour in 2022. The league officially unveiled the Canadian Premier League Shield, the trophy awarded to the best team over its 28-game season, last fall and will hand out the hardware for the second time in 2024.

Halifax closes out the regular season at home against York United FC on Saturday, October 19.

Notes:

Eight of the Wanderers' 14 CPL home matches will be played on a Saturday afternoon with four more played in the afternoon on Holiday Mondays: Victoria Day (May 20) vs. Valour FC, Canada Day (July 1) vs. Cavalry FC, Natal Day (Aug. 5) vs. Vancouver FC and Labour Day (Sept. 2) vs. York United.

Additionally, there will be two night games this season played on back to back weeks: Thursday, July 11 vs. Valour FC and Thursday, July 18 vs. Pacific FC.

The Wanderers play an even split of seven home and seven away games in each half of the 28-game season.
