Halifax Steamrolled in Loss to Windsor

Halifax Rainmen News Release
The Halifax Rainmen could not find any answers for the high powered offense and tight defense of the reigning NBL Canada Champion Windsor Express Wednesday evening as they fell 95-68. The loss halts Halifax's two game winning streak and moves the team to 10-11 on the season.
After trailing by three points at the end of the first quarter the wheels began to fall off the train for Halifax, whose aggressive defense got them into foul trouble once again in the first half. With Windsor converting on 28 of 43 attempts from the free throw line and Halifax shooting 12% from beyond the arc throughout the game the Rainmen put themselves in a hole they were unable to play out of. Trailing 40-29 heading into the second half Halifax saw the deficit increase, going down by 21 points, 70-49, to finish the quarter. Windsor proved to be too much down the stretch, keeping the Rainmen under 70 points for the first time all season.
Kevin Young came up just shy of a double double, recording 26 points and 9 rebounds. PJ Foster provided the Rainmen with 14 points off the bench. Tim Parham had 9 rebounds on the night. The Windsor Express were led in scoring by Quinnel Brown who had 18 points. Deandre Thomas had 13 points. Kevin Loiselle was the top rebounder for the Express, pulling down 9.
The Halifax Rainmen are back in action inside the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday January 25th 2015 when we take on the Saint John Mill Rats with a 2pm tip-off time. Tickets are still available by visiting the Scotiabank Centre Box Office, Ticket Atlantic, or www.rainmenbasketball.ca.
