Halifax Rainmen News Release

(Halifax, N.S.) The Halifax Rainmen suspended Eric Crookshank with pay for the rest of the season for behavior unbecoming to the overall well being of the team. Crookshank will remain in Halifax and continue to support the team members and the Rainmen organization.

Crookshank will undertake a program to teach kids how important it is to be accountable for their actions. "I accept that my recent behavior had a negative impact on the team and the organization and I am ready to face the responsibility for that," said Crookshank.

"One of our main focuses is to develop players for the next level in their careers whatever that level may be. There is no guarantee any of our players will play in the NBA but all of them will become better men and have the opportunity to become more productive citizens, from their experience here in Halifax. It means a lot to this organization that each player's quality of life is improved by their time spent in Halifax and that is our goal for Eric," said Coach Rick Lewis.

The details surrounding Crookshank's suspension will remain internal and confidential.
