Halifax Hurricanes News Release
Halifax, N.S. - In his first public act as Head Coach of the Halifax Hurricanes, Coach Ryan Marchand announces the 2019/20 Halifax Hurricanes roster. The 11 player roster consists of returning, local, and new talent ready to hit the court December 28, 2019 in PEI when they take on the Island Storm.
Notable local talent on the Hurricane roster includes Chris Johnson from North Preston and Tyler Scott from Halifax. Both players played on opposing teams last season but return home to play in front of hometown fans. Scott faces his former team, the Island Storm, right out of the gate in game one of the season and Johnson suited up with the Cape Breton Highlanders last season, who are absent from the league this season.
Adding to the Maritime flare is Kyle Arseneault from Fredericton, New Brunswick. Arseneault played university ball for Acadia and was a member of the KW Titans and PEI Storm in his previous seasons with the NBLC.
Long standing Halifax Hurricanes captain Cliff Clinkscales returns for what he is calling his "last dance" and will be joined by former players: Joel Kindred, Ta'Quan Zimmerman, and Antoine Mason.
Big man on the roster is Asauhn Dixon-Tatum, standing at 7 feet from Anderson, Indiana, joins the Hurricanes after five seasons of NBA-G League playing experience.
"This roster has a good mix of vets and players that are hungry to prove themselves," says Head Coach Ryan Marchand. "We have a very high quality of talent and the amount of consistent and disciplined work that we put in will determine how high our ceiling can be."
