Atlanta Vision News Release
The ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies CEO/Owner Embry Malone say he will ask Mayor Shirley Franklin to join other local celebs when the team kickoff their ABA season at the Olympic Cauldron in downtown Atlanta in November. In the summer of 1981,while Malone was a volunteer for the Andrew Young for Mayor campaign, he broke his ankle playing basketball at the King center, and then campaign top aide Shirley franklin was so impressed with Malone's hard work that she sent a van to pick him up to bring to the campaign each day.Two decades later Malone wants to return the kind gratitude by makingn Mayor Franklin a honorary Gwizzlie for a day at the kickoff.
