Gwizzlies Going To Long Beach Summer Pro League
May 14, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Georgia Gwizzlies News Release
Mason, GA. The new ABA George Gwizzlies will participate in the 2007, famed and prestigious California Summer Pro League in Long Beach, California. Now known as the Nike California summer pro league (summerproleague.com), the league has an outstanding reputation because countless NBA and FIBA scouts, agents, personnel, players attend the games and play. On July 7th, the ABA Georgia Gwizzlies will get a chance to showcase the team as the organization prepares for its upcoming season at the Macon Centerplex Coliseum in November.
The Gwizzlies organization has been conducting a Sponsorship Campaign Drive and believes that the Nike SPL exposure will help the Macon team. Because of the demand by recent college grads and free agents, the organization will also send teams to Kentucky Pro Am in Louisville, KY and the SEBL at Clayton State University in Morrow, GA. Open tryouts will be June 10th 2pm at Morgan County High School, 1231 College Street, Madison, GA at exit 114 off I-20 east toward Augusta. The team is looking for new talent. The cost of the tryout is $150. For more information, call 678 508 0467, email gwizzlies@msn.com or visit www.abalive.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
