Brandon Wheat Kings News Release

Brandon, Manitoba - The Brandon Wheat Kings, in association with TELUS, have announced that veteran Connor Gutenberg has been chosen the hockey club's Player of the Month for February.

An 18-year old local product, Gutenberg is the lone Wheat King to have appeared in all 63 regular season games this season and is currently enjoying a career year.

A former member of the Brandon AAA Midget Wheat Kings, Gutenberg has scored seventeen goals and 47 points in 63 games this season and during the month of February, the former fifth round bantam draft choice had two goals and 7 points in thirteen games.

Since joining the Wheat Kings in the fall of 2015, Gutenberg has scored 36 goals and 94 points in 173 career WHL games.

A member of Team Manitoba at the 2015 Canada Winter Games, he joins Kale Clague, Logan Thompson, Stelio Mattheos and Ty Lewis as Wheat King Monthly winners this season.

This award is presented to the Wheat King, who best demonstrates success - both on and off the ice - as a teammate and role model in the community.

TELUS will present Connor with this monthly award during the first intermission of next Tuesday's game against the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes at Westoba Place.

Tickets to all remaining home games, including Friday night vs Moose Jaw and Tuesday against the 'Canes, are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office. Fans can also order online at keystonecentre.com or by calling (204) 726-3555.
