March 1, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL) News Release
Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that Swift Current Broncos captain Glenn Gawdin has been named the WHL Player of the Month for February 2018.
Gawdin, a signed prospect of the Calgary Flames, recorded 27 points (15G-12A) and a plus-17 rating in 12 games this month to take over the lead in the WHL scoring race while helping the Broncos challenge for the Eastern Conference lead and the league's best record.
With points in all 12 games, Gawdin extended his point streak to 23 games. He had one four-point effort, recording his first hat trick of the season, four three-point games and four two-point games. He earned first star of the game honours six times throughout the month, earning a pair of second star of the game honours too. He was twice named the WHL's first star of the night.

The 6-foot-1, 186-pound product of Richmond, B.C. was originally selected in the first round, fifth overall, of the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft. In 308 career WHL regular season games with the Broncos, the 20-year-old Gawdin has 307 points (125G-182A), including 33 power play goals, three short-handed goals and 19 game-winning goals.
In 24 career WHL playoff games, Gawdin has registered 13 points (7G-6A) and will be counted upon as one of the pieces to lead the Broncos to another deep run this spring.
