Syracuse Mets News Release
Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Chiefs are pleased to announce the guest list for this year's annual Hot Stove Dinner & Silent Auction. Manager Tony Beasley, returning to the Chiefs for the second straight season, will join the event once again. Pitching coach Greg Booker, back for his fourth season with Syracuse, is slated to join, along with a host of members from the Washington organization - director of player development Doug Harris, director of minor league operations Mark Scialabba and assistant general manager Bryan Minniti. Finally, International League president Randy Mobley will join for the evening as he prepares to begin his 22nd year at the league's helm.
Beasley returns to Syracuse this year for his second season as the team's skipper. In 2012, he led the Chiefs to a 70-74 season. Beasley's been named a Manager of the Year three different times in the minor leagues by Baseball America.
Booker is set to continue his time as the longest-tenured Chiefs coach in 2013, when he'll begin his fourth season guiding the Syracuse pitching staff. Last year, Booker guided Chiefs hurlers to a 3.95 ERA, helping to lead a staff which walked the fewest batters in the International League.
The 2013 Hot Stove Dinner & Silent Auction will take place on Friday, February 1 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Liverpool. A silent auction and cocktail hour will get underway at 5:30pm with the dinner program set to begin at 7:00pm. The event will benefit the Syracuse Chiefs Charitable Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) corporation which implements programs to improve the health and educational opportunities of families and youth in the Central New York community and provides financial assistance to other 501(c)(3) organizations with similar purposes.
The 2013 Hot Stove Dinner will include the announcement of this year's upcoming Syracuse Baseball Wall of Fame Class, a group that will be inducted into the Alliance Bank Stadium Wall of Fame later this season. The event will also include a brand-new Fan Fest complete with interactive games, activities, displays and photo opportunities.
Tickets for the Hot Stove are $55 for adults, $25 for children 12 and younger and $500 for a table of 10. Fans may purchase tickets in person at the Chiefs ticket office at Alliance Bank Stadium or by calling 315-474-7833 during normal business hours, Monday-Friday from 9am to 5pm. Ticket and table order forms are also available online at syracusechiefs.com.
