Grizzlies Welcome New Staff Members

FRESNO - Fresno Grizzlies President Pat Filippone announced today that the organization has hired Chuck Kirlin as Director of Media Relations, Megan Curdy as Marketing Manager, Luke Reiff as Ticket Manager and Brett Marshall as an Account Executive.

Kirlin comes to the Grizzlies from the Cincinnati Reds where he spent the past two seasons as a media relations intern. Before joining the Reds, he was a media relations intern for the Akron Aeros, Class AA affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. He is a December 2001 graduate of Indiana University and a native of Cincinnati, OH.

Curdy is a December 2003 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA. Prior to coming to Fresno she spent time as a marketing and promotions intern for the Tacoma Rainiers, Class AAA affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. She is a native of Camas, WA.

Reiff joins the Grizzlies after two seasons with the Indianapolis Indians, Class AAA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, where served as a ticket sales representative in 2002 and as the assistant director of stadium and baseball operations in 2003. He is a native of Bluffton, IN and a graduate of Indiana University.

Marshall is a native of Lincoln, RI, and a December 2002 graduate of Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. Prior to joining the Grizzlies he spent time as an account executive with the Dallas Burn of the MLS (Major League Soccer) and went to Game Face Inc. sports sales and marketing training.

"We're very excited about the experience and skills these individuals bring to our organization," said Filippone. "With the help of these individuals we look forward to a successful 2004 season."

In September the Fresno Diamond Group (FDG), the Fresno Grizzlies Baseball Club, appointed Pat Filippone as President of the organization.

Filippone has more than 13 years of experience in senior management in the baseball industry, most recently serving as the general manager of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the California Angels Class A affiliate. This past year he was awarded the California League Executive of the year for his efforts in Rancho Cucamonga. He got his start in baseball with the Prince William Cannons in Woodbridge, Virginia, and quickly rose through the ranks becoming the vice president and then the general manager all within a three-year period. While with the Cannons he received the Carolina League Executive of the Year in 1997. He is a graduate of Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA.
