The Grizzlies opened their season Saturday night with a dominant 13-0 win over the visiting Savannah Bananas. The Grizzlies put up 7 runs in the first inning, highlighted by a 2 RBI Double by Logan Koch (Francis Marion). Alex Reynolds led the Grizzlies at the plate, going 3-4 with 3 RBI's on the night.
Sean Collins (Richmond) was credited with the Win for the Grizzlies in front of a crowd of 2,708. Head Coach Evan Wise was very happy with the result. "Obviously with tonight being an exhibition, I wanted to mess with the lineup and get a feel for our guys," said Wise. "I'm very happy with the result and the way our guys came together on Opening Night." Harris Yett (Walters State) also had a 2 RBI Double in the 3rd inning to extend the Grizzlies lead and there was no looking back. The Grizzlies next contest is Tuesday, May 31st at home and is "Two For One" night! All drinks in the ballpark will be Two For One. Game time is 7:17.
