Born September 17, 1943 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Officiated for 17 seasons, working 271 regular and playoff games, including one Grey Cup. He resides in St. Albert, Alberta.
Neil Payne â Evaluator / Director of Officiating
Born July 10, 1939 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Payne was appointed the League's Assistant Director of Officiating in April, 1985. During U.S. Expansion, he returned to the field to Referee in 1994 and 1995. He was appointed Director of Officiating in March, 2000. He has worked over 200 regular season and playoff games and in addition appeared in four Grey Cup finals. He lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The Canadian Football League's nine teams compete annually for the Grey Cup, Canada's oldest professional League championship trophy. The 90th Grey Cup will be played in Edmonton on November 24, 2002.
