Gresham GreyWolves News Release
The Gresham GreyWolves have been purchased by Scott and Misty Barchus. The purchase announcement was made this past Tuesday by Jerry and Lisa Walker who brought their West Coast League team to Gresham last season.
"We are very happy to turn over operations of the GreyWolves to the Barchus' as they have connections with the team and will retain the best interest of Gresham and the GreyWolves," said Jerry Walker.
The Barchus' are no stranger to the GreyWolves as their son, Justin, is the head coach of the team, son Jordan played for the GreyWolves, and Scott served as an assistant coach during the GreyWolves inaugural season.
"Misty and I are delighted to become the new owners, and are looking forward to becoming involved in the Gresham community," said Scott Barchus. "We will operate the team with great pride and plan to make the team the very best it can be both on and off the field. We expect a very smooth transition and want to thank the Walkers for giving us this opportunity and look forward to continuing to fulfill their vision for baseball in Gresham," concluded Barchus.
The Barchus' are longtime residents of Keizer, Oregon and founders of the highly acclaimed Capital City Select baseball and softball programs.
The GreyWolves battled for a playoff spot in their first season in Gresham, going 15-12 in the second half finishing two games out (and 26-28 overall). The team was formerly based in Klamath Falls.
