New York Lizards News Release

Garden City, NY(June 2, 2015) - Major League Lacrosse announced today that New York Lizards face-off specialist Greg "Beast" Gurenlian has been named FOAthlete of the Week for a fifth time this season after his stellar performance in the Lizards' Week 7 victory against the Charlotte Hounds, presented by the Faceoff Academy.

Gurenlian went 25-for-30 in faceoffs and picked up 18 ground balls against the Hounds, which equates to a 71 percent faceoff win performance. Along with it being the fifth time that Gurenlian has been awarded the FOAthlete of the Week, this also marks the third consecutive week that Beast has been given the honor. Gurenlian's effort in faceoffs helped the Lizards improve to 7-0 on the season.

"Greg is the epitome of a professional," said Head Coach of the New York Lizards, Joe Spallina. "He works tirelessly on his trade and his success is a byproduct of all the effort he puts in."

Among other highlights of the Lizards' 21-16 victory over Charlotte in Week 7, Rob Pannell and Tommy Palasek each netted five goals. Paul Rabil was not far behind with four goals of his own, and Lizards' rookie Ryan Walsh notched a hat trick in his MLL debut. The Lizards seek their 8th consecutive win to start the season as they return home on June 5th at 7:30 p.m. to take on the 1-6 Florida Launch.
