COLUMBUS, OHIO (June 2, 2015) - Major League Lacrosse announced today that Ohio Machine rookie attackman Jimmy Bitter was named the Cascade Rookie of the Week after his performance in Ohio's 18-12 victory over the Denver Outlaws on Friday, May 29.

Bitter netted three goals and added an assist in the team's victory over the Outlaws. Bitter's four points are the most for a rookie making his Machine debut since Derek Maltz posted four points in his pro debut on July 19, 2014.

"Jimmy is a dynamic player that has been a huge welcome to the team," Machine Vice President & Head Coach Bear Davis said. "Jimmy feeds really well into what we are trying to do as a unit and does a lot of things really well that fit with the players we have around him."

After a standout career at the University of North Carolina, Bitter scored his first professional goal just minutes into the contest. His first professional score put the Machine ahead 3-2 with the tally. He would cap off this hat trick with two fourth quarter goals, sealing the victory for Ohio. Bitter added an assist a minute into the second quarter when he fed Steele Stanwick to open the scoring in the second frame.

The Machine travels to Charlotte, NC for a June 5 game against the Hounds, before returning to Selby Stadium on Saturday, June 20 at 7 p.m. when the Chesapeake Bayhawks come to town. Tickets for the game against Charlotte start at $12 and can be purchased by calling 614-754-1973 or visiting www.theohiomachine.com/tickets.
