Greetings, Good Citizens! WMMR's Pierre Robert Becomes Wings Biggest Fan

April 1, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Philadelphia Wings News Release

Philadelphia, PA - Philadelphia radio icon Pierre Robert, of WMMR (93.3FM), participates in a ceremonial face-off as he becomes the Philadelphia Wings biggest fan when the Wings meet the Calgary Roughnecks at Wells Fargo Center on Friday, April 4 at 7 p.m. Being the music enthusiast that he is, Robert enjoys the fact that the National Lacrosse League (NLL) is one of the few sports to allow music to play during regulation.

"It's amazing how many WMMR fans are also Philadelphia Wings fans," says WMMR Program Director Bill Weston. "It's a great partnership with Pierre Robert T-shirt Night and a great opportunity to showcase how well Rock and Lacrosse go together in terms of our shared audience and the great music featured throughout the game."

The first 2,000 fans in attendance over the age of 16 will receive a specialized "sherzie" featuring a Wings logo on the front and Robert's name on the back. Fans can meet Robert prior to the start of the Wings game in the Cure Insurance Club starting at 6 p.m.

Robert has been an on-air personality for WMMR for 33 years and is one of the station's most identifiable personalities. He holds a significant stature in the American rock music industry, where he is held in high esteem by many rock musicians and groups. Many of these artists have granted Robert rare interviews and have appeared in-person on his program.

Single game tickets for the Philadelphia Wings 2014 NLL season are available now. Call 215-389-WING (9464) or visit WingsLAX.com to purchase.
