
Granite Falls Just Short of the Cycle in Barons Win

Centerfielder Zach Granite led the Birmingham Barons with three hits and three runs scored as they go on to win an 8-2 win over Biloxi Saturday night.
Granite had a single, double and triple to led the Barons with three hits. Ian Dawkins hit his first home run on the season.
In the first inning, the Barons (4-1) scored first in the game when a Zach Remillard RBI single scored Granite and the Barons led 1-0. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Romy Gonzalez doubled to right field scoring Dawkins and Granite. With the two runs, the Barons led 3-0.
In the top of the fifth inning, David Fry hit his first home run of the season off the left field scoreboard. With the Shuckers run, the Barons still led 3-1.
In the sixth inning, a Remillard RBI double scored Dawkins and Granite. Later in the inning, the Barons pull of a double steal and Remillard stole home for the Barons and they widened the lead to 7-1.
In the seventh inning, Dawkins hit his long home run to left field for the Barons and Tristen Lutz went deep for the Shuckers in the top of the eighth. With both scores, the Barons led 7-2.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Ti'Quan Forbes hit a sharp ground ball to third and Gonzalez scored on the play. With the run, the Barons led 8-2.
For the Barons, Gonzalez had two hits and two RBI's, Adolfo had two hits, Forbes and two hits and a RBI, and Dawkins had two hits and three runs scored.
