ADELANTO, Calif. - Trailing by six, the JetHawks showed late life with three runs in the seventh inning but eventually fell to the High Desert Mavericks, 7-4, on Friday night at Heritage Field.

J.D. Davis hit his 16th home run of the season for the JetHawks (53-51), and Derek Fisher went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and stole three bases.

Kevin Comer (1-4) allowed a career-high seven runs on eight hits and two walks through 4.1 innings. Troy Scribner, however, kept Lancaster in the game by tossing 3.2 innings of perfect relief, striking out six batters.

With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Tripp Martin broke a 1-1 tie with a grand slam to left field to give High Desert (54-47) a 5-1 lead. A single and two walks had loaded the bases ahead of Martin.

The Mavericks added onto their lead against Comer in the fifth on RBI-doubles by Seth Spivey and Joe Jackson. Scribner entered after Jackson's double with one out and struck out the first four batters he faced.

With David Perez (1-0) on the mound in the seventh, Alex Bregman hit a two-out double and scored on a Fisher single.

Davis followed with a two-run homer to right-center to bring Lancaster within three runs. But Anyelo Leclerc pitched a scoreless eighth and ninth for the Mavericks, recording the save and handing the JetHawks a second straight loss.

Lancaster had opened the scoring in the top of the first on a Ronnie Mitchell RBI-double, but High Desert tied the score in the bottom of the second on run-scoring groundout by Oliver Caraballo.

The series continues on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Austin Chrismon (4-2, 4.06) will pitch for the JetHawks opposite High Desert's David Ledbetter (1-8, 8.22).
