
Grand Rapids Drive Acquire Jerrell Sanders

Grand Rapids, MICH. - Apr. 2 - The Grand Rapids Drive announced today that for the remaining two games of the inaugural 2014-15 season, they will acquire Grand Rapids/Creston native, Jerrell Sanders from the available player pool.
Sanders, a 6'6, 210-pound forward, attended the Drive's public open tryouts in October of 2014 for a spot on active roster. On Nov. 1, Sanders was drafted by the Drive in the sixth round, fifth pick of the 2014-15 NBA D-League Draft. He was later waived but had remained a loyal practice player and support for the team during the season.
Sanders previously played for Ferris State University where during the 2011-12 season he started in 27 games with the Bulldogs and averaged 11.4 ppg, 7.6 rpg in 33.3 mpg. After his years at FSU, Sanders played over seas in Germany with the BG Bonn Meckenheim club for the 2012-13 season.
Sanders will suit up with the Drive for the last home game on Friday (April 3) against the Erie Bayhawks. Tip-off is at 7 PM (ET) at the DeltaPlex Arena.
Sanders will wear jersey number 12 while with the Drive.
Daniel Orton has been released and is now a free agent as of Mar. 26. 2015.
