
Govener Brad Henry Congratulates Cavs

Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry News Release
LAWTON, OKLA- The 2008 CBA Champions, the Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry, visited the State Capital today to meet Governor Brad Henry.
After meeting the players, Governor Henry read the Governor's Commendation congratulating the team for bringing the CBA title to Oklahoma.
"Oklahoma salutes the Cavalry for making it home state proud," said Henry.
The Cavs and their championship trophy posed for pictures with Gov. Henry. Owner Mike Brown also presented the governor with a Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry shirt and autographed Cavs hat.
More victory celebrations are in store for the team. At 1:30 p.m. on Friday, the team will be honored by Mayor Purcell and County Commissioner Ron Kirby at the South Entry of the Comanche County Courthouse. The victory party will be at the Great Plains Coliseum. A VIP reception will be held at 7:00 p.m. and the victory party that is open to the public will begin at 8:00 p.m. There will be a short presentation, music and dancing.
