Chances are that pitcher Andrew Barb's first impression on his Winnipeg teammates was also a good one.
Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today the signing of pitcher Andrew Barb. There are now 26 players on the Winnipeg roster, split evenly between pitchers and position players.
Barb, 25, joined the Goldeyes in Sioux Falls over the weekend and tossed an inning of scoreless relief in a 3-0 loss to the Pheasants on Sunday. A career 14-9 in 110 appearances (17 starts) with 29 saves and a 2.89 ERA, he and the rest of his new teammates will be back at Canwest Park on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. workout.
Winnipeg returns to game action this weekend when the defending champs from Fargo-Moorhead arrive for the first of two games. The opener is set for Friday at 7 p.m. with game two going at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
