Erie, Pennsylvania, Friday, June 1 - Following the best season of his professional career, Erie BayHawks center, Kyle Goldcamp has received an invite to the third-annual NBA Development League Elite Mini Camp on Monday, June 4 and Tuesday, June 5, at Chicago's Moody Bible Institute.

Playing in the spotlight is nothing new to Goldcamp, as he received a training camp invitation with the Cleveland Cavaliers prior to the start of the 2011-12 NBA season. The experience he gained with the Cavaliers, coupled with his strong work ethic, propelled the former Gannon Knight to post career bests in many statistical categories. For the season, Goldcamp averaged 14.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest. He also set single game personal records with 25 points against the Tulsa 66ers on December 23 and 19 rebounds against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on November 25.

Erie's all-time rebounding leader will be joined in Chicago by some of the NBA D-League's top prospects from the 2011-12 season. The camp serves as an opportunity for those players to display their skills and be evaluated NBA team personnel.

The two-day event features both drill work and full-court games, giving players the best opportunity to showcase their talents. More than 50 NBA front office executives and scouts are expected to be on hand to evaluate the talent.

"The NBA D-League's Elite Mini Camp gives almost 40 top prospects from our league an opportunity to showcase their skills in front of more than 50 NBA scouts and front office personnel," said Chris Alpert, Vice President of Basketball Operations and Player Personnel for the NBA D-League. "At the same time, the event affords NBA teams an offseason chance to check in on elite young players as they fill their summer league and training camp rosters."

The event is highlighted by eight players with NBA experience, including former Chicago Bulls guard JamesOn Curry and his Springfield Armor teammate Dennis Horner, who found his way to the NBA D-League by way of a national tryout before earning a GATORADE Call-Up to the NBA last season. Other NBA veterans include Keith Benson (Sioux Falls Skyforce), Trey Johnson (Bakersfield Jam), and Alando Tucker (Texas Legends). Three members of the 2012 NBA D-League Champion Austin Toros, Terrance Woodbury, Julian Wright and Luke Zeller, round out the 36-player field.

The event, which was held in Los Angeles in 2009 and Chantilly, Va. in 2010, returns following a one-year hiatus in 2011.
