Gold Kings Announce Playoff Dates
Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Gold Kings have cemented their schedule for the first two rounds of the Taylor Cup playoffs, should the team be fortunate enough to advance that far.
In the first round, Colorado will face the gritty Tacoma Sabercats, who forced the Gold Kings into a deciding Game Five in the first round last year before succumbing 3-2. Due to conflicting dates at the Colorado Springs World Arena, Colorado will be forced to play Games One and Two of this year's series at the Tacoma Dome. If the Gold Kings should survive the Sabercats, the team will either travel to Idaho in a rematch of the 2001 Northern Division Finals or open at home against Anchorage, who will be looking to surprise the heavily favored Steelheads in the first round. All possible scenarios are listed below:
Colorado vs. Tacoma-Round One
Game One at Tacoma Dome Fri., April 12 8:35 p.m. MST
Game Two at Tacoma Dome Sat., April 13 8:05 p.m. MST
Game Three at C.S. World Arena Mon., April 15 7:05 p.m. MST
Game Four at C.S. World Arena Tue., April 16 7:05 p.m. MST (if necessary)
Game Five at C.S. World Arena Wed., April 17 7:05 p.m. MST (if necessary)
If Colorado and Idaho win-Northern Division Finals
