Gold Kings Unveil Schedule

July 23, 2002 - West Coast Hockey League (WCHL)
Colorado Gold Kings News Release

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Colorado Gold Kings will enjoy 28 weekend games at the Colorado Springs World Arena as part of their 72-game West Coast Hockey League regular season schedule in 2002-03.

The importance of the WCHL regular season has been magnified by the fact that only four of the seven teams, now competing in one division instead of two, will qualify for the 2003 Taylor Cup playoffs. After opening on the road against former Northern Division rivals Idaho and Anchorage, Colorado will make its home debut Friday night, October 18th against the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7:00 p.m. All seats in the upper bowl at the Colorado Springs World Arena may be purchased for only five dollars as part of the Gold Kings' continuing "$5 Friday" promotion, now in its fourth year.

Other highlights of the upcoming home schedule include "Ultimate Kids' Day" at the World Arena on Friday, November 8th, at 10:00 a.m., a promotion which drew a season-best crowd of more than 6,800 fans last year, and a two-game set with the defending Taylor Cup champion Fresno Falcons Friday and Saturday night, November 29-30, at 7:00 p.m. 2002-03 season tickets are now on sale, starting at only $160 for a 10-game package in the lower bowl at the Colorado Springs World Arena.
