Glendale Rugby Clubs Participate in Plane Pull

Glendale's professional Raptors rugby team will join Glendale's Women's Premier League team and members of the Glendale Police Department at Denver International Airport for a plane pull challenge benefiting Special Olympics of Colorado. With Raptors mascot Rudi there to cheer on the teams, this event showcases Glendale's commitment to community service and involvement.

What:

The Seventh Annual Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull. Players from Glendale's professional Raptors team, as well as from the Women's Premier League squad, alongside Glendale police officers, will team up to take on the Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull challenge. A giant game of tug-of-war, teams of up to 25 will compete to see how quickly they can pull an 82-ton Boeing 757 airplane 12 feet down the tarmac. All fundraising and proceeds benefit Special Olympics of Colorado, and the event will feature teams from across the state.

When:

Saturday, August 4, 2018. Plane pulls take place from 11am-2pm.

Signature Flight Support at Denver International Airport. 7850 Harry B. Combs Parkway, Denver, CO 80249.

Who:

Bringing communities together, the Special Olympics of Colorado Plane Pull is entering its seventh year. This year, representatives from the City of Glendale Police Department, as well as players from the professional Glendale Raptors Rugby team and the Women's Premier League team will participate in the event. Representing Raptors official credit union sponsor Westerra, the teams will look to pull a 164,000-pound jet 12 feet across the tarmac as quickly as possible.
