The Glendale Raptors, Colorado's only Major League Rugby (MLR) team, announced today that they are rebranding as the Colorado Raptors.

"Several other rugby team names represent their entire state or region," said Mark Bullock, Colorado Raptors' Director of Rugby. "We are Colorado's Major League Rugby team - why not make that official?"

In addition to the name change, the logo underwent a few updates to incorporate the Colorado name with nods to the iconic state flag.

"We are excited to share this team with all of Colorado and help spread the excitement of Major League Rugby across the state," said Pam Dunbar, Director of Marketing for the Raptors.

MLR will be kicking off its third season, but rugby roots run deep in Glendale. Infinity Park, home of the Raptors, has hosted everything from local to international rugby events since 2007.

Season ticket reservations start today. Individual game tickets will be available in December.

The home opener for the Colorado Raptors will be February 22, 2020.

February 22 vs. Nola Gold 4:00 p.m.

February 29 vs. Utah Warriors 4:00 p.m.

March 6 vs. Toronto Arrows 6:00 p.m.

March 21 vs. Austin Herd 4:00 p.m.

April 18 vs. Houston Sabercats 4:00 p.m.

May 2 vs. ATL Rugby 4:00 p.m.

May 23 vs. Seattle Seawolves 4:00 p.m.

May 30 vs. San Diego Legion 3:00 p.m.

Major League Rugby began in 2018 with 7 teams and has now grown to 12 teams located across North America, including the Colorado Raptors, Utah Warriors, Houston Sabercats, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, NOLA Gold, Austin Herd, Rugby ATL, Rugby United New York, New England Free Jacks, Old Glory DC, and the Toronto Arrows.
