Glendale Raptors Rugby Announce 2019 Season Schedule

After a decade establishing their place as a national leader in the quickly growing sport, the Glendale Raptors became a founding member of Major League Rugby (MLR) in 2018. The Raptors finished the 2018 regular season with only one loss and were the runners up for MLR Championship. d76c637-bae4baf352-293745073 The team looks to build on last season's success as they usher in the 2019 season on the weekend of January 26. The Raptors will have the chance to avenge their loss to Seattle in last season's championship game as they meet Seawolves in 2019's first regular season game.

During their quest for the Championship Shield, the Raptors will face a growing field of competition. Next year, two new teams - Rugby United New York and the Toronto Arrows - will join the original seven (Austin Elite Rugby, Houston Sabercats, New Orleans Gold, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Utah Warriors, and the Glendale Raptors). With the additions of Toronto and New York, the regular season will expand to 19 weeks, running from January 26 through June 2, with the MLR playoffs and the Championship immediately following.

The Raptors will host eight games at Infinity Park in Glendale and will travel to eight away matches. CBS Sports Network will broadcast a highlighted Game of the Week each week. Fans can also watch matches on ESPN+.
