Gladiators to Open Training Camp on February 28

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators are excited to announce that training camp for the 2011 Arena Football League season is set to open on Saturday, February 28 at the team's practice facility - MultiPlex Events & Sports Center in Warrensville Heights, Ohio. The Gladiators season opener will be Saturday, March 19 when they visit the defending ArenaBowl XXIII Champion Spokane Shock in Washington.

Players will report on February 26 and camp will continue through Friday, March 11. The two-week schedule features nine practice sessions and one scrimmage at the division rival Pittsburgh Power on March 4, all subject to change. The MultiPlex Events & Sports Center is located at 18909 S. Miles Rd, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, at the same location as The WORD Church.

"Our players and our staff are eager to get started," Gladiators head coach STEVE THONN said. "We have one goal and that's to bring a championship to the city of Cleveland and its fans. We can't wait to begin working to accomplish that goal."

Coach Thonn's roster is comprised of 11 players from last year's team, additional players with AFL experience, veterans of various professional leagues and a mix of rookies. Highlighting the returning players are two-time ArenaBowl champion QB JOHN DUTTON and WR ROBERT REDD, one of the leaders of the playoff squad from the Gladiators' inaugural season in Cleveland in 2008.
