Gladiators Place Jeremy Wilkinson on IR and Activate OL/DL Karl Bates

Las Vegas, NV, April 16, 2003 — The Las Vegas Gladiators placed WR/LB Jeremy Wilkinson, who injured his left leg in the Gladiators' game at Grand Rapids on Sunday, on IR today and replaced him on the roster with OL/DL Karl Bates.

Bates had been sidelined since he injured his knee in a game against the San Jose SaberCats on March 2.

The Gladiators travel to play the Orlando Predators on Sunday in a game that will be televised by NBC. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET/12:00 PM PT with Tom Hammond and Pat Haden providing the call. The game can also be heard locally on ESPN Radio 920 in Las Vegas.

The Gladiators return home on Sunday, April 27, when the take on Eastern Division rival Detroit at the Thomas & Mack.

Often recognized as one of the nation's most affordable and fan-friendly sports leagues, the Arena Football League kicked off its 17th season and the first on NBC on Sunday, February 2, 2003. NBC will provide the AFL with unprecedented exposure by televising up to 70 games, including playoff contests and ArenaBowl XVII on June 22.
