Gesa Stadium Voted Best Short Season-A Ballpark

July 15, 2020 - Northwest League (NWL) - Tri-City Dust Devils News Release

This afternoon Gesa Stadium was once again announced the winner of Ballpark Digest's Best of the Ballparks for Short Season-A. Voted on by you, the fans!

According to Ballpark Digest, "last year's vote played a part in our seedings, as well as seeing how the ballparks function behind the scenes, how these ballparks have made an impact in their communities and noting how ballparks are regarded within the industry." Gesa Stadium received the most votes in 2019, so the home of the Tri-City Dust Devils received the top seed as it entered the 2020 competition.

Over the course of three weeks and a first round bye, Gesa Stadium defeated ballparks from the Northwest League (NWL) and the New York-Penn League.

The championship round paired the #1 seed, Gesa Stadium, and the #3 seed, BB&T Ballpark at Bowman Field (Williamsport Crosscutters). Over the course of four days and the support of the Dust Devils fans, Gesa Stadium prevailed by beating BB&T Ballpark at Bowman Field a whopping 83% to 17%!

A vital part of Gesa Stadium being named Best Short Season-A Ballpark for a third time in a row is on-field host, Erik the Peanut Guy! "I am so proud of the Tri-Cities for winning this recognition for the past three years in a row! I've been lucky to visit over 120 active Minor League Ballparks around the continent. Some have amazing features and others have quaint, comfortable atmospheres. However, I am proud that we in the Tri-Cities have Gesa Stadium! Countless out-of-town visitors have called us the friendliest ballpark they've ever been to, along with one of the cleanest and with one of the best views. Our ownership and the City of Pasco continuously invest to upgrade the stadium. Our fans make everyone feel welcome and energized. Our friendliness, loyalty and passion for the Dust Devils make this place memorable. It's the people that make our Gesa Stadium the best ballpark in Short Season-A Baseball!"

The Dust Devils would like to thank the local community and fans who helped Gesa Stadium be named the Best Short Season-A Ballpark in the country!

The Dust Devils office is currently closed, however members of the front office are still teleworking and can be reached via email.
