German Solid in Loss at Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY - The Norfolk Tides (10-23 | 38-70) fell to the Buffalo Bisons (18-17 | 53-57), 7-6, on Wednesday at Sahlen Field. Buffalo scored five runs in the ninth to beat the Tides.

Nestor German earned no decision for the Tides as the starter. He went 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out five. He threw 89 pitches, 53 for strikes.

German exited with the game tied at 2-2. But Norfolk took their first lead of the game in the sixth, scoring four runs. Codi Heuer made his Tides debut, tossing 1.0 scoreless inning and exited as the winning pitcher of record.

After getting 10 hits Tuesday night, Norfolk put up another eight hits on Wednesday. They were spread throughout the lineup, with Jose Barrero and Reed Trimble leading the offensive production with two RBI each. Up 6-2 in the ninth, Norfolk would blow the lead and lose 7-6.
