Charlotte, NC - Logan Davidson and Blake Sabol homered, while Nick Madrigal had four hits to lead the Durham Bulls to a doubleheader split on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Knights at Truist Field.

After dropping the opener 4-1, Durham (23-11) jumped on Charlotte (17-18) starter Peyton Pallette for two runs in the second inning thanks to a Sabol homer. The Bulls added three runs in the fourth when Davidson cranked a two-run shot to right. Homer Bush Jr. would score later on a wild pitch for a 5-0 lead.

The Knights scored a run in the fourth, but left the bases loaded as Owen Wild (W, 3-0) fanned Andy Weber as the tying run. Wild registered the win by fanning all four batters he faced.

Madrigal went 4-4 with three stolen bases and also reached on a hit by pitch. Sabol was 3-4 and Davidson's homer was his third in his last nine at bats. Durham collected 15 hits in the nightcap victory.

The Bulls fell 4-1 in the opener. Bush connected for a solo homer in the fifth inning for Durham's only run against Charlotte starter Jonathan Cannon.

Mason Englert (L, 0-4) suffered the loss by allowing three earned runs over 4 2/3 innings with eight strikeouts.

The series continues on Thursday night at 7:04 PM ET.
