Gerald Clark – A Closer Look

May 25, 2005 - United Indoor Football Association (UIF)
Evansville BlueCats News Release

Evansville BlueCats wide receiver Gerald Clark has become known for making big plays in his first season with the team. Clark leads the team in pass receptions and receiving yards so far this season, catching 24 passes for 330 yards. His 9 touchdown catches is also a team best among the wide receivers. Clark also scored on a two-point conversion earlier this season, giving him a total of 56 points scored on the year.

Arguably the biggest catch of the BlueCats entire season came in Week One when Clark hauled in an 11 yard touchdown pass as time expired to give Evansville the 53-51 win over the Tennessee Valley Raptors at Roberts Stadium in the UIF's inaugural game.

In the Week One game against Tennessee Valley, Clark also had a 36 yard touchdown catch, his longest play of the season. Clark added a 33 yard catch in the BlueCats dominating victory over the Omaha Beef in Week Seven.

He's averaging 13.75 yards per catch, good for 3rd best in the league.

Evansville BlueCats Head Coach Ollie Guidry said, "Gerald is a solid receiver who we've had since day one. He's been making plays game in and game out and he's becoming more and more comfortable with our offense. As long as he stays healthy, he will continue to be a big part of our offensive success."

BlueCats Owner and President John Voliva says, "Gerald Clark is a PLAYMAKER!"

Clark, originally from Anderson, South Carolina, has previous pro experience with the Tupelo FireAnts and Winston-Salem Energy. He also played for North Greenville College in Tigerville, South Carolina.

The Evansville BlueCats next game is this Saturday, May 28th, when the BlueCats will welcome the Peoria Rough Riders at Roberts Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm. Tickets are available at the Roberts Stadium box office.
