Georgia Force Signs Nine-Year AFL Veteran Bret Cooper

ATLANTA, GA. - The Georgia Force announced today the signing of nine-year Arena Football League veteran Wide Receiver/ Defensive Back Bret Cooper. In other roster moves, the Force placed Quarterback Todd Bankhead on the practice squad and waived Defensive Specialist Cornelius Coe from the practice squad.

Cooper has been one of the best two-way players in the AFL over his career. Entering the 2003 season, he had the fifth highest average gain per reception in AFL history at 14.7 yards per catch. Cooper is also 14th all-time with 5,348 receiving yards, 18th all-time with 85 touchdowns and 19th with 365 career receptions. Defensively, Cooper is tied for 12th all-time with four inceptions returned for a touchdown. The Force will be the fifth team he has played for over his AFL career starting with the Tampa Bay Storm (1994), Memphis Pharaohs (1995-96), San Jose SaberCats (1997), Orlando Predators (1998-2001) and Buffalo Destroyers (2002).
