Georgia Force Makes Four Roster Moves

Atlanta, Ga. - The Georgia Force announced today that several roster moves were made as the team prepares for its first road game of the season on Saturday, May 4 at San Jose. Georgia signed kicker John Markham and activated wide receiver/defensive back Scott Thomas from Injured Reserve. The Force also waived wide receiver/linebacker Corey Sullivan and released defensive specialist Kirk Pointer.

Markham (6'1", 212 pounds) will be entering his first season in the Arena Football League after a highly successful career at Vanderbilt University. Markham was drafted in the fifth round (160th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. He competed in training camp with the Giants before being released on September 2, after the team signed future Hall of Fame kicker Morten Andersen. Markham was a four-year starter for the Commodores earning All-SEC second team honors following his senior year.

The Force will return home next week to host the Arizona Rattlers on Friday, May 10 at Philips Arena at 7:30 p.m.
