Generals Tryouts to Take Place This Weekend

EL PASO, TX. : The El Paso Generals will be holding their second stint of tryouts this Saturday, January 24, 2009 from the Las Cruces High School Football Field, located at 1755 El Paseo Road in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the tryouts to begin shortly after. Those that are interested in participating must pay a $55 cash or money order fee. Players may also pay a $45 pre-registration fee, and free waivers will not be accepted.

Players will be expected to bring shorts, cleats or turf shoes. The El Paso Generals IFL (Indoor Football League) organization will supply T-shirts and water for the tryouts. Players will be tested in several different categories including the 40-yard dash, pro shuttle, standing broad jump, L-drill, bench press & one-on-one drills.

Head Coach Brian Brents and the Generals Coaching Staff are expecting a solid turn-out for this weekend.

"We are excited about expanding our recruiting process towards New Mexico. We have received great feedback from not just the El Paso community, but from Las Cruces as well. Myself and the rest of the Generals Coaching Staff are excited about the local talent attending this weekend's tryouts. We are looking forward to seeing what they can bring to the indoor football game." stated El Paso Generals Head Coach, Brian Brents.
