Generals Team up with SVSU

FLINT, MI - For the second consecutive year, the Flint Generals have entered into a partnership with the Kinesiology Department at Saginaw Valley State University.

The entire Generals' training camp roster will visit SVSU on Monday, Oct. 5th and spend the entire day being tested by Kinesiology students in a variety of mediums including Wingate test, Strength & Agility, and an underwater body composition test. There will be a morning and afternoon session with lunch provided by the Department. A sports nutritionist will also meet with Generals' players to discuss proper nutritional habits throughout the season.

"Testing at SVSU will give us the opportunity for great team bonding and a look at the physical conditioning of this year's team. The staff at SVSU does a great job," says Head Coach Jason Muzzatti.

"The kinesiology department at SVSU is extremely excited about the partnership with the Flint Generals", remarked Dr. Josh Ode, who is the Human Lab Coordinator at SVSU. "We plan to use the information gathered during the testing session to help improve and/or maintain fitness levels in these athletes throughout the season."

Generals Training Camp attendees will participate in on-ice workouts at the Polar Palace in Lapeer on October 6th, 7th, and 8th and compete head to head in Blue-Gold Scrimmage games each day at 3:30pm. Admission and parking at the Polar Palace to the Scrimmages will be free!

The Generals will play back-to-back exhibition games against the rival Port Huron Ice Hawks on Friday, Oct. 9 and Saturday, Oct. 10. Friday's game will be in Port Huron, and Saturday's game will take place at Polar Palace in Lapeer at 7:30 pm. Admission to Saturday's game is $7 for adults and $5 for children with tickets available at the Polar Palace in Lapeer or calling them direct at (810) 245-7778. Net proceeds from the game will be going to Lapeer Minor Hockey.

Flint Generals 2009-10 Season Tickets are still on sale allowing fans to get the same seat for all 38 home games. Flex Tickets are also available for purchase, giving fans ten (10) $12 tickets for just $100.
