Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League prepare to wrap up the 2004-2005 regular season with two weekend home games and a final trip to Quad City in the last week of league action.
The Generals host the Quad City Mallards on Friday, April 8, 2005 and the Danbury Trashers on Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Perani's Arena at 7:35 p.m. On Saturday, the organization will conduct "Team Awards Night" during pre-game ceremonies prior to the start of the hockey game. After the game will be a post-game auction for the Flint Generals' home jerseys.
Flint will close the season in Quad City on Sunday, April 10, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. (E.S.T.). You can catch all the action on WFNT-AM 1470 and on the Internet along with the B2 web cast pay-per-view.
Flint will not qualify for the Colonial Cup Playoffs after dropping a 3-2 shootout at Port Huron on Wednesday night. That, combined with the Quad City victory over Rockford on Wednesday, earned the Mallards the eighth and final playoff spot officially knocking the Generals out of the playoff chase.
Mathematically, the Generals could still tie Quad City for points in the overall standings. The first tie-breaker would have been most victories which would favor Quad City with Flint having no chance to tie or beat the current Mallards victory total of 37.
Tickets are on sale at any TicketMaster location for the last two regular season home games this weekend. Ticket prices are $13.00, $11.00 & $9.00 with student and senior citizens tickets discounted $2.00 off regular prices. For purchases, please call (810) 744-0580. For more details, contact the Flint Generals at (810) 742-9422.
The Flint Generals would like to thank all season ticket holders, business associates and all hockey fans throughout mid-Michigan for your support during the 2004-2005 campaign. We also thank all team volunteers, the Booster Club, interns and others who work so hard for us behind the scene during the hockey season.
The organization will plan on a solid off season to build for the future on and off the ice. We hope you will join us for the 2005-2006 hockey season.
