Generals Overcome Early Deficit to Top Cane
August 4, 2016 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
The Victoria Generals fell behind early, but came back quickly and never looked back to top the Cane Cutters, 7-3 on a warm night at Riverside Stadium.
The Cane Cutters got on the board first in the second inning when Dylan Hardy from South Alabama hit into a fielder's choice which plated the game's first run to give Acadiana an early 1-0 lead. Dom Bifano from Indiana State followed with a two-run double to make it a 3-0 lead for the Cutters.
The lead didn't last long as Nick Anderson nailed a three-run triple in the third to tie the game up at 3. Christian Caudle followed with an RBI groundout to give Victoria the lead at 4-3.
The Generals never looked back from there as Anderson and Hunter Hearn finished with three RBI's each for the game.
Acadiana will have the next two days off before starting a two-game set in Woodlands, Texas on Sunday night to take on the Strykers. First pitch is scheduled for 7pm for both contests.
