Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League return home to host the Richmond Riverdogs on Friday, February 18, 2005 at Perani's Arena at 7:35 p.m. Flint is back home after six consecutive road games over the past two weeks.
Flint (23-21-10, 56 pts.) is in third place in the Central Division and ninth overall in the league standings. Richmond (27-25-3, 57 pts.) is in third place in the Eastern Division on eighth overall in league standings.
Friday night's game is important to both clubs for playoff positioning. Eight of fourteen teams will qualify for the Colonial Cup Playoffs. The top two teams in the league's three divisions will automatically qualify for the playoffs with the last two teams qualifying based on points.
"We are looking to get on a roll with some victories in the middle of the month and get momentum heading into March," said Vice President/Head Coach, Robbie S. Nichols. "We can't worry about what other teams are doing, we have to take care of our own business. We need to play solid hockey for the next 26 games. We need some victories to make a move in our division and to secure a playoff position in the overall standings. This is a huge weekend for the Flint Generals."
After Friday night's game against Richmond, the Generals will host the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale for this weekend's games and all regular season home games at any TicketMaster location.
